She starts the cooking process by adding soaked chilka moong dal (split green gram) on top of rice in a pressure cooker. Then she adds spices like turmeric, and salt and tops it all with a spoonful of pure ghee. After adding three cups of water, you need to wait for three whistles and the fourth one on low flame. Voila! The easy-peasy khichdi recipe is ready. While the khichdi is cooking, Bhagyashree shares, “Be it acidity or constipation, khichdi calms your stomach. Chilka moong dal provides you with fibre, protein and vitamins.”

Sharing the clip, Bhagyashree detailed the benefits of the dish in the caption. The actress wrote, “I believe that the simple khichdi is the most effective home remedy for an upset stomach, apart from being my staple comfort food. It provides the body with protein for strength as well as nutrients to help recovery. Easy to digest, it is the ideal meal if you are unwell. This is a tip, probably all of us know but I have to emphasize the benefits of having this. Rice is easy to digest and provides much-needed energy when sick. The chilka moong dal is a protein but with goodness of fibre too. Haldi is an anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial. Salt is needed to help replenish body salts, especially if one has the loosies. Ghee creates a protective layer on the tender stomach lining to reduce the corrosive effect of stomach acids.”
