Shah Rukh Khan embraces Gautam Gambhir after KKR’s record-breaking win over DC

KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, who watched the match from the stands, walked onto the field at the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium as he was brimming with joy after Kolkata’s 106-run win over DC in the IPL 2024 match. The Bollywood superstar embraced mentor Gautam Gambhir, who is being widely credited for the change in fortunes and the return to form of their old warhorses Sunil Narine and Andre Russell. Shah Rukh Khan acknowledged the effort of coach Chandrakant Pandit with a hug to the domestic stalwart as the Knight Riders looked like a happy camp. Former captain Eoin Morgan, who was on air, remarked that the dressing room morale should be at an all-time high.

Shah Rukh Khan was seen chatting with Rinku Singh, one of his favourite players in the Kolkata camp, before he gave a bear hug to captain Shreyas Iyer, the captain who was looking relaxed and confident. Shah Rukh Khan did not miss an opportunity to meet and greet the Delhi players as well. The Bollywood icon hugged Khaleel Ahmed and appreciated him for his efforts with the ball so far in IPL 2024. Shah Rukh Khan eyes lit up when he met Kuldeep Yadav, a former Knight Riders star. The Bollywood star was seen sharing a laugh with Kuldeep, who did not play the game in Vizag due to a niggle.


Kolkata thrashed Delhi by 106 runs to continue their winning run and jump to the top of the points table in the Indian Premier League on Wednesday. Set an improbable target of 273, Delhi Capitals were all out for 166 in 17.2 overs. Batting first, the seasoned Sunil Narine and young Angkrish Raghuvanshi struck scintillating half-centuries to power Kolkata Knight Riders to an imposing 272 for seven. Narine blasted 85 in a mere 39 balls while the 18-year-old Raghuvanshi smashed his way to 54 off 27 deliveries, as the DC bowlers ran for cover. Andre Russell blazed away to 41 in just 19 balls while Rinku Singh made 26 in eight balls, continuing KKR’s dominance throughout the innings. For DC, skipper Rishabh Pant hammered 55 in 25 balls while Tristan Stubbs sizzled with 54 in 32 deliveries.
